“ In early 2000, many years into my career, I began to explore the disconnect that existed between my personal beliefs and values, and the daily work I performed. This realization motivated me to research alternative business models that honored personal expression and creativity in the workplace. It was the beginning of my search for balance and a journey that led to the foundation of Shift Strategies in 2003 and the development of our methodology. I am a deep listener and I see possibilities. It is a good day when a client shifts to a place of realizing their potential and I can support their transformation in a practical way. She discovered the potential of inclusion when she worked as an educator for fifteen years.  When she spent three years living in Japan, she utilized discomfort out of necessity. During that time, she experienced what few Americans ever do-living through a different cultural lens.  What Angela took from her discomfort is knowing the power and creativity that comes from peeling back culture and narrative, so inclusion can thrive and belonging can happen.

Being open to a change perspective is necessary to see your blind spots. So is space. Angela teaches people how to use a shift lens to transform and grow. She knows the value of unique perspectives.

"When I returned to Idaho in 2017, I had different ears. People would say things that should have gone unnoticed but now sounded strange. The community is my classroom. Through personal inquiry and study, I seek out the barriers that impede, distort, and prohibit communication and connection. We, like fish who don’t know they swim in the water, don’t know we see and speak through culture. Helping people discover and navigate through this lens is the most exciting challenge on my journey as an educator."
